Student Protests

In 2023, amendments to the law affecting the education system, the low salary of teachers and changes to the legal status of teachers in Hungary triggered a wave of strike and demonstrations in Budapest. Teachers and students united against the government's decision. During the demonstrations, tension between student protestors and the police increased several times and the police repeatedly decided to use physical force against the demonstrators for the purpose of riot control.
