Horse Whisperer
Sándor Mikó is one of the few Hungarian trainers who train their horses using the “liberty” method. He's a whisperer. His methods and attachment to horses transcends traditional training methods. Instead of using physical violence, he bases the joint work on trust, understanding meta-communication signals, mutual respect, patience and a deep understanding of equine behavior, thus combining horse training with ethology. During the training, Sándor relies on subtle gestures and movements, abandons all riding equipment, and only uses his stick, with which he gives sublte signals to the animals. The goal is to provide the horses with as much freedom as possible, in a non-dominant, equal relationship, in which the horses become companions, and the horse and the human learn to speak each other's language.
